Loaded Announces New Editor

Following its new ownership after the collapse of Vitality Publishing, Loaded has announced that Ian Edmondson will be taking over the reins as editor.

The lads' magazine, which is now owned by Paul Baxendale-Walker, is set to run more page-three style content, and Edmondson has told the Evening Standard that he wants to return the title to the "bad boy image" that it cultivated in the 1990s.

Edmondson was formerly news editor at News of the World, where he was allegedly linked to the phone-hacking scandal. He has since launched a claim for unfair dismissal against former employer News International. His previous experience also includes a stint at Sunday tabloid the People.

Speaking to the Evening Standard, Edmondson emphasised the importance of offering value-adding content to attract new readers and stated his intention to introduce politics into the magazine's editorial content.
