Some publishers saw a severe fall in Facebook traffic in March.
An anonymous traffic analytics company has revealed that some publishing companies have experienced a severe drop in traffic in March 2016.
From January to March 2016, some major publishers saw a decline of around 20%.
The data also revealed that publishers which saw the decline were those who had invested heavily in 'Instant Articles', despite Facebook saying that 'Instant Articles' get viewed more than regular Facebook posts.
'Instant Articles' is a fast-loading mobile-first initiative, which was launched in 2015.
At present, 'Instant Articles' is only available to a handful of publishers, but Facebook intends to open it up to all publishers in the future.
