A Step Forward in EUDR Implementation
A Step Forward in EUDR Implementation
The European Commission has officially confirmed that the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) will come into effect on 30 December 2025, as originally planned.
This announcement follows weeks of speculation after the EU Environment Commissioner recommended a one-year delay due to IT infrastructure challenges. Despite these concerns, the Commission has reaffirmed its commitment to the original timeline, signalling strong intent to move forward with environmental accountability across global supply chains.
EUDR Grace Period Confirmed
A six-month grace period has been introduced to give organisations additional time to complete compliance processes.
The regulation will officially begin on 30 December 2025, but companies have until 30 June 2026 to reach full compliance. This flexibility allows businesses to finalise traceability systems, data-sharing protocols, and supplier verification workflows without disruption to ongoing operations.
Impact on Printers and Supply Chain Partners
At InterMedia, we’re working closely with our supply chain network to map out how the EUDR process will run across every stage.
Printers play a central role, supplying essential data to Marketforce, which securely stores and transfers it to importers of record such as InPost or Coventry.
The European Commission has also released a simplified version of the EUDR reporting process. InterMedia is currently reviewing this to determine how it affects the responsibilities of each partner in the supply chain. Once confirmed, we’ll share updated guidance to ensure consistent, transparent compliance across all contributors.
Staying Ahead of the Compliance Curve
With the new timeline in place, readiness and collaboration remain our top priorities.
Over the coming months, we’ll continue working directly with printers, logistics partners, and importers. Testing will begin in early Spring 2026, allowing all participants to validate their processes and data submission methods well before the June deadline.
This proactive approach ensures the entire network is confident and compliant ahead of time.
